Product Review –
Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon, Colour Morphing Eyeshadow Pencil.
About Charlotte –
The tousled, flame haired, rather fabulous high priestess of sexy, sultry makeup. An incredible makeup artist with a hypnotic voice and dazzling emerald green eyes to match.
If you have ever looked at a glossy magazine, chances are you have seen her work on celebrities ranging from Rhianna, Kate Moss, Jennfer Lopez, Adele, Kristen Stewart and just about every supermodel on the planet.

I love her approach and attitude towards beauty in that every woman has the ability and the power to feel sexy, glamourous and fabulous all the time and her products and a true luxurious reflection of this.
The Product –
Housed in elegant, plum and rose gold packaging, all of Charlotte Tilbury’s products scream high quality luxury and I have been really impressed that the technology, textures and ease of use more than back up the image.
The Colour Chameleon eyeshadow pencils are based on colour theory which uses contrasting colours in the spectrum to enhance the colour of the eye which many women find confusing, however Charlotte Tilbury has taken all of the guess work out of what colour will enhance your eyes to the max.
In brief, each eye colour (Blue, Brown, Green and Hazel) has 2 colours each to choose from, A dialled down version for daytime and a dialled up version for night although there is nothing stopping you from working a sexy smudgy rock chick smoky eye on the school run! In fact I am sure Ms Tilbury would actively encourage it!
I have swatched all the colours on my arm in the picture below The Colours in the range are;
For Blue Eyes –
Champagne Diamonds (Day)
Black Diamonds (Night)
For Green Eyes –
Bronzed Garnet (Day)
Amethyst Aphrodisiac (Night)
For Brown Eyes –
Dark Pearl – (Day)
Amber Haze (Night)
For Hazel Eyes –
Golden Quartz (Day)
Smokey Emerald (Night)
All of the colours in the range are really wearable so don’t be afraid to try out a different colour in the range.
The colours are highly pigmented and all have a definite sparkle to them. They are suitable for all ages would be a good option for even more mature ladies whose eyelids have lost elasticity or tone who would like something a little more glam than a matte shadow without showing up the dreaded crapeyness.
The only exception to this perhaps would be the champagne diamonds shade.
How to use –
In terms of application, they are really easy to apply, simply smudge direct onto the lid and blend out with either your fingertips or a fluffy blending brush up into the socket of the eye. You will need to work quickly as they set within about a minute and once they are on, they are ON! You will need to use a waterproof remover to take them off at the end of the day.
The benefit to their longevity is that they don’t smudge, drop, smear or crease and make an excellent base for powder eyeshadow to be applied on top.
As the formula contains glitter, these pencils are not suitable for use on the waterline, however Charlotte Tilbury’s Rock and Kohl eyeliner pencils are excellent for that vampy, rock chick tightlined effect.
RRP is £19 per pencil which positions these products at the upper, luxury end of the cosmetics world. However for the technology and results given, I feel this is well worth the money. Just about every woman I know has a makeup graveyard with shades or formulas brought on impulse or through not knowing what works for them and wasted their money entirely.
Im a big believer in you don’t need a million makeup products to look good, just a few good quality ones that make you look the best version of yourself so on balance £19 isn’t really that expensive for something that works.
Final Thoughts –
Overall I am really impressed with the Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon, Colour Morphing Eyeshadow Pencils and I have purchased every shade for my kit. I have no doubt they will be products I re-purchase and recommend to my clients in future.
