Soft Glam on Sophie – Part 2

15th February 2021

I was really excited to be Sophie’s wedding makeup artist for her big day. Sophie chose The Bringewood as her wedding venue which is unique and luxurious venue set in the beautiful South Shropshire countryside.

For Sophie’s wedding makeup we created one of my signature looks with a few tweaks to suit her personality and style.

As a wedding makeup artist I think its important to adapt to your client and it’s not unusual for the bride to ask for a few tweaks to the makeup on the big day itself.

We wanted Sophie’s wedding makeup to really compliment her ultra glam blonde updo and stunning figure hugging dress, so we felt it was better to dial down the intensity on the eye makeup to look a little less “Saturday night” and keep the overall look elegant but still sultry. We swapped out the waterproof kohl pencil in black for a sophisticated flesh tone using Charlotte Tilburys “eye cheat” pencil.

For Sophie’s eye makeup I used one of my go-to eyeshadow palettes, the rather appropriately named “Bella Sophia” from Charlotte Tilbury with a little of the rose gold toned highlighter pressed onto the lid for extra glow and a modern twist to the slightly more brown toned smoky eyes.

Sophie’s skin was perfected with a long wear base – the makeup artists essential “Double Wear” from Estee Lauder. Being an early ceremony and a warm day forecast – we wanted to ensure that Sophie’s combination skin needed minimal touch ups throughout the day.

As and wedding makeup artist knows, longevity is key and the makeup needs to be kiss, tear, sweat and humidity proof from the first photo to the last dance.

Sophie’s look was completed with a glowing peachy cheek using a combination of different blushers and highlighters for a “lit from within” effect and a complimentary peachy nude lip “Bitch Perfect” from Charlotte Tilbury for a classic yet modern pout.

I am delighted that Sophie felt as beautiful, sexy and fabulous as she looked and it was a privilege to be part of her “glam squad” on her big day. If you would like to discuss your wedding makeup, please do get in touch.
