It was a pleasure to be a part of Sophie’s amazing “festival themed” summer wedding.
Sophie and I met while I was presenting a makeup masterclass evening at Beauty Benefits in Bridgnorth. For any brides looking for incredible skincare and advanced skin solutions, Alison and the team are amazing and I can highly recommend them!
I had previously met Sarah, Sophie’s super glam mum at a previous event at Beauty Benefits so when she heard I was back in town and with Sophie’s summer wedding coming up, Sarah brought her along to the event.
Sophie and I hit it off straight away, she explained to me that she wasn’t a big makeup wearer and had already had a makeup trial, but she felt that the look was way too heavy for her personal style. I did a very quick 15 minute makeup on her to show that she didn’t need a lot of makeup to still look amazing on her big day and kept the look very soft and natural which Sophie loved and she would love for me to do her makeup on the day.
Sophie and I chatted over the next few days and she asked if it was worth having a “proper” bridal makeup trial and she would be interested in trying a slightly heavier makeup to see if she would like something in the middle ground of the makeups.
We arranged this for her and it was lovely that Sophie brought along a couple of her bridesmaids as well for me to meet at House of Hair Hostess in Solihull.
Sophie gave me free rein to do what I thought would work best for her so we went for full red carpet glam. A copper toned smokey eye to compliment Sophie’s amazing green eyes, lashings of black mascara and a flawless glowing skin paired with a classic nude lip.
Sophie loved the makeup and but felt that a few of the elements were better for an evening event and were a little too “sexy” for the wedding itself but she found it useful to pull different elements from the more natural and the slightly more glam makeups to find a happy middle ground.
