I had the pleasure of meeting the gorgeous Sarah and doing her makeup before I met the bride. I love doing ‘Mother of the Bride’ makeup and using my selection of anti-aging and youth boosting tricks to turn back the clock.
For Mother of the Bride makeup, its is key to keep things elegant, classic and to only use as much makeup as what is required to give the maximum effect. For Sarah’s mother of the bride makeup look we wanted to pull elements from Sophie’s bridal look and keep the application light.
For the eyes we used a soft lilac eyeshadow which complimented Sarah’s fabulous figure hugging lavender dress. The lashes were enhanced using several coats of Legendary Lashes mascara from Charlotte Tilbury.
Sarah preferred a very natural base with a little more glow so we used Delilah “Time Frame” foundation over the top of “Underwear” primer to smooth out any texture on the skin and giving the foundation more staying power in the summer heat.
To give the base as much longevity as possible, the foundation was set using “Airbrush” pressed powder from Charlotte Tilbury for a smoothing and natural finish and I used a selection of powder blushers and highlighters to give the skin a soft radiance while not compromising on staying power.
Sarah’s look was completed by defining the brows using “Sable Brow Line” pencil from Delilah cosmetics and “Faux” lipstick from MAC for a pretty mauve pink lip colour.
The overall look was one of soft glamour, enhancing Sarah’s natural beauty and I’m pleased to say withstood the weather and still looked as fabulous at the end of the evening.
