The ‘I Do Crew’

15th February 2021

The glamour continued at Sophie’s wedding where I had the pleasure of doing the makeup for her gorgeous bridesmaids.

It is always advisable to have the same artist do all of the bridesmaid’s makeup to give a consistent “feel” to the overall look of your “I do” crew.

Having said that I think it is important to adapt the look to the individual and their personal style while still having elements of the bridesmaid’ makeup the same.

As Sophie’s colour theme was a very modern and beautiful blush pink, we opted for a rose gold vibe to give a modern twist to the makeup. Rose gold is a very flattering tone for all ages and eye colours. While I generally advise to avoid anything too pink toned near the eye (in case of emotional moments) rose gold has enough warmth in it to enhance the eyes without making them look tired.

The bridesmaid’s makeup all followed the Rose gold theme with some of the adult bridesmaids going for a slightly more smokey application on the eyes. I used a Bobbi brown eyeshadow stick for a long wear, crease free base and the Anastasia Beverly Hills “Soft Glam” palette paired with a selection of my go to Eyelure lashes to create a variety of looks, appropriate to the personal style of each bridesmaid.

For the lips, I used MAC lipstick in “Crème Cup” and topped with clear Lipglass for a beautiful glossy pink pout. Sophie’s beautiful sister Laura was giving me all the Elizabeth Taylor vibes and requested a slightly more visible lip line which we achieved using MAC lip pencil in “Pressed Blooms” and I really loved it on her.

The overall effect for the bridesmaids makeup was one of modern glamour – glowing, sexy and very gorgeous.
